Well, due to some spammer having found this obscure blog, I have been forced to refuse Anonymous posts. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause for legitimate posters, but since I am unable to send feedback to the offending servers causing them to explode and burst into flames - well, I do what I can. Well, not really, but 10-Sep-08 is when the LHC is going to rev up for the first time at .45 TeV.
If the world still exists on Thursday, then they hope to ramp up to 5 Tev by the end of the year and eventually to 7 TeV.
The sad part is, the potential end of the world should have been at the SSC, not CERN.
